Undergraduate Bulletin of Department of Athletic Sports (DAS)

(for students admitted after 2021)

A. Minimum credits for graduation is 128 credits including

(1)General Education Courses               28  credits

Students must complete at least one course in the Liberal Education dimension 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6. (required 12 credits)

 

For the rest credits, students can select courses from any Liberal Education dimensions.

★ Please refer to “National Chung Cheng University General Education course regulation”.

★ DAS foundation courses and those Liberal Education courses remarked as “not for DAS students”, will not be counted as General Education credits for DAS students.

★ Please refer to “Regulations of the National Chung Cheng University Bachelor's Degree Program in Physical Education”.

★ First and second year physical education credits can be waived by DAS Specialized Sport Training courses.

Students must complete Service Learning course, which includes a minimum of 16 hours of Community Service Learning and attending service learning lectures. (0 credit)

 (3) DAS Specialized Selective Courses: 18 credits

1. All selective courses offer by DAS can be counted as DAS Specialized Selective Courses credits.

2. Student must complete a minimum of 18 credits of DAS Specialized Selective Courses, including selective subjects and selective sport training, while a maximum of 4 selective sport training courses could be adopted in it. The DAS Selective Courses are as followed:

     3. Teacher Education courses comply with the regulation of Center for Teacher Education.

(4) General Selective Course: 24 credits.

  1. Students must complete 24 General Selective credits or more for the bachelor degreed.
  2. Extra General Selective Courses cannot be counted as DAS Specialized Selective Courses or graduation credits.
  3. Extra Teacher Education courses and credits from incomplete Teacher Education can be counted as General Selective Courses and graduation credits.
  4. Military training courses cannot be counted as General Selective Courses or graduation credits.
  5. Courses offered by Center for Language Studies can be counted as General Selective Courses and graduation credits only if the credits are not for fulfilling the requirement of English language ability.
  6. A maximum of 4 DAS Specialized selective sport training courses can be counted as General Selective Course.

 

(5) Other regulations and recommendations:

1. There will be a 200 meter swimming examination for students before graduation (including 100 meters freestyle and 100 meters breast stroke),the examination standard will be further determined.

2. Students should acquire one license (coach or referee) of their specialized sport, and another one license of other sport. (National team player need to acquire only one license of their specialized sport)

3. To complete the 18 credits of DAS Specialized Selective Courses and 24 credits of General Selective Courses, students can choose one of the three specialized programs listed below, and apply for a program certificate from DAS after finishing all courses of that program.
